HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Virginia Tech's Tamara Barad Itzhaki, Erika Cheng and Özlem Uslu concluded play on Wednesday at the ITF Hilton Head in Hilton Head, S.C.
Uslu provided a strong showing in her first fall outing coming away with a singles victory on Tuesday in straight sets to earn a spot in the second round of the main draw. On Wednesday, she fell in a three-set match.
Cheng opened play for the Hokies on Monday in the singles qualifying draw with a 10-point tiebreak victory followed by a win straight sets to advance into the first round of the main draw.
Barad Itzhaki made her fall debut alongside Özlem in the doubles main draw producing a valiant effort but eventually falling in three sets.
