1. At what age did you begin playing volleyball and what do you love most about playing?
AR: I started playing at age 14 when the high school coach told me to try out because she saw I was athletic. I love the challenge of the sport and being able to use it as an outlet for physical and mental relief.
2. Why did you choose Virginia Tech?
AR: I chose Virginia Tech because of the location and the beautiful campus, as well as the coaching staff and the balance of competitive play and great academics.
3. What are you most excited for as you head into your first season as a Hokie?
AR: I am most excited to become a better athlete, develop relationships with my teammates and coaches and have the opportunity to contribute to the program.
4. What position do you play and how did you begin playing that position?
AR: I play outside hitter. I am fairly new to this position as I changed club teams to be able to use my abilities to learn this position.
5. What is your major and why did you choose it?
AR: Human development. I choose this major because I enjoy working with children and learning about the mind.
6. Describe yourself in three words
AR: Determined, responsible and independent
7. What is your favorite place to eat in Blacksburg so far?
AR: The Cellar
8. What does it mean to you to be a Hokie?
AR: It means a lot to be a Hokie as this is the beginning of my future. I am excited for the experiences I will capture as I grow into an adult.
