Catch two sneak peeks of the 2022 Hokies at English Field

UPDATE (Feb. 10, 2022) – Sunday's intrasquad scrimmage has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 12, at 12 p.m. The release below has been updated to accommodate this new information.

BLACKSBURG – Conducting its final tune-ups before the start of the 2022 regular season, the Virginia Tech baseball team is eagerly inviting fans to catch two early glimpses of the Hokies during its eventful final weekend of the preseason.
 
On Friday, Feb. 11, Tech will hold the first of two intrasquad scrimmages this weekend at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., admission is free, seating is general admission and ballpark services will not be open.
 
On Saturday, Feb. 12, the Hokies have rescheduled their second intrasquad scrimmage for a 12 p.m. start at English Field (previously Sunday at 1:30 p.m.). Like on Friday, admission is free, seating is general admission and ballpark services will not be open.

Exhibition games may vary in length and format from traditional nine-inning contests at the discretion of the coaching staff.

Following Saturday's scrimmage, Tech will welcome all ticketed guests at its 14th annual Baseball Night in Blacksburg, as hosted by The Inn at Virginia Tech. Saturday's season kickoff banquet will be headlined by keynote speaker Jeff Passan – ESPN's MLB insider – and will run from 2:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Next week, the Hokies will open the 2022 regular season at home on Friday, Feb. 18, when Tech entertains UNC Asheville during the first game of a three-game weekend series. First pitch at English Field on Opening Day is scheduled for 2 p.m.
