BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech earned its 10th win of the season on Sunday afternoon with a 70-65 victory over Oklahoma State inside the Barclays Center as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational.

MONEY FROM THE STRIPE
- In a game as tight as Sunday's, things like free throws can be the deciding factor. Virginia Tech shot 79.2% (19-24) from the line against Oklahoma State, which is slight above its season average of 75.7%.
- Mylyjael Poteat, who leads the team shooting 89.5%, shot 6-6 from the charity stripe. Hunter Cattoor was 7-8 from the line, including 5-6 in the last 37 seconds of the game.
TURNOVERS: CREATE BUT DON'T MAKE
- The Hokies forced Oklahoma State to make 17 turnovers, the most by an opponent since Louisville had 18 on March 1, 2022.
- Tech recorded 11 steals as a team, which is the highest total this season. Justyn Mutts had a career-high six steals, marking the third time in his career that he's had five-or-more takeaways in a game.
- On the offensive end, Virginia Tech has taken care of the ball and turned it into scoring. The Hokies rank first in the ACC and fifth in the country with a 1.65 assist to turnover ratio.
IN THE RANKINGS
- Following another high-major win for the Hokies, including their second away from home, Tech landed at No. 24 in The Associated Press men's college basketball poll.
- This marks Virginia Tech's 16th week in the polls since Mike Young took over ahead of the 2019-20 season and its first appearance since the final poll in 2020-21.
