Virginia Tech falls to Wake Forest in ACC Championship quarterfinal

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Virginia Tech's season came to an end on Sunday afternoon, as the Hokies fell to Wake Forest in the ACC Championship quarterfinal, 1-0.
 
The game's lone goal came in the 62nd minute from a free kick. Wake Forest's Omar Gonzalez curled his shot around the wall and into the top left corner of the net. 
 
Tech created five chances throughout the match, including three on target. In the second half, both Conor Pugh and Ricki Vidal put headers on frame, but they were stifled by the Demon Deacons' keeper. 
 
Ben Martino recorded five saves for the Hokies.
