The Virginia Tech football team opens its November slate at home this Saturday, Nov. 5, as Georgia Tech visits Blacksburg for an ACC clash. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. ET in Lane Stadium, and limited tickets are still available.

Get ready for gameday with five things to know for the Hokies' matchup with the Yellow Jackets.

1. Several former Tech greats will be recognized at halftime. Saturday's contest will serve as the athletics department's annual celebration for the latest class of Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame inductees. This year's standout group features four former Hokies with ties to football, including Bruce Arians, Kam Chancellor, Vince Hall and Mike Gentry, along with notable names Dorotea Habazin (track & field), Sara Smith (swimming & diving) and Marcel Lomnický (track & field).

2. Bring a canned good to support the Marching Virginians' food drive. This Saturday, the Marching Virginians will hold their annual Hokies for the Hungry canned food drive. In partnership with New Life Christian Fellowship and the Blacksburg community, the band works to collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations for the Montgomery County Christmas Store.

The band will split into groups and travel to different tailgating locations to perform for fans. In exchange, tailgaters are asked to donate money and food for their choice of song. Additionally, band members will be stationed at every gate (except for Gates 7 and 8) with containers to collect donations, and there will also be places to donate in Hokie Village. Fans can also make monetary donations on Venmo to the @spiritoftech account.

3. There's plenty going on in Hokie Village. Set to open at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, Hokie Village will have something for everyone to experience prior to kickoff. There will be live music from Chancie Neal along with plenty of fun activities like inflatables, yard games and food trucks. Both Tech's baseball and volleyball teams will also be signing autographs from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Current season tickets are encouraged to visit the Virginia Tech ticket sales team's table near midfield on the side of Hokie Village next to Lot 1 and pick up exclusive Hall of Fame trading cards.

4. Greet the team during Hokie Walk. Help get the team fired up for gameday by welcoming them when they arrive for Hokie Walk on Beamer Way at approximately 10 a.m. Lane Stadium gates will open shortly after at 10:30 a.m.

5. Download your mobile ticket before entering Lane Stadium and choose the gate closest to your seat. Make your gameday hassle-free by downloading your mobile tickets and adding them to your digital wallet before arriving at the gates. Fans are strongly encouraged to get the official HokieSports mobile app, the best place to manage your tickets.

Refer to the map below for information on the best gate to enter based on your seat location. The best time to enter the stadium is one hour before kickoff, and fans will want to find their seats early to see the pregame show, flyover featuring two F-18s and "Enter Sandman" team entrance.

6. Stick around for some hoops! As a bonus, both Virginia Tech men's and women's basketball teams will open their respective seasons this Monday night, Nov. 7. Be there as the Hokies' women's squad takes on Mount St. Mary's at 5 p.m. then stick around while the men's team battles Delaware State at 9 p.m. Several ticket options are available to fit different groups and budgets.
