LYNCHBURG, Va. – Following its game Saturday at Liberty, Virginia Tech football met with the media for a press conference. Read below for what head coach Brent Pry and linebacker Keli Lawson had to say.
Head coach Brent Pry
On Hokie Nation:
"I'm appreciative of those that made the trip. Our fan base is phenomenal. I've been around some good fan bases, but the loyalty and commitment from this one is special. I'm very thankful for them. I'm just so happy and proud of our football team to have a chance to celebrate all of the investment they've made."
On running back Jalen Holston being selfless and not scoring on the final drive:
"Yeah, had I known he needed one more, we might have just gotten one more in him before he went down. I think he rather preserve the win. That was smart football there, so I'm glad they operated it very well."

Linebacker Keli Lawson
On the win:
"It's a great feeling. It's too bad we didn't have the season that we initially wanted. But being able to close it out on the back end and by putting four quarters together is a great feeling."
On how prepared the defense was for facing two different quarterbacks:
"I would say we were very prepared. Obviously, on the fly is going to take a bit of time to adjust to that, but I feel like we ultimately got it figured out."
