Soundbites: Post-practice media availability (Liberty)

Virginia Tech football met with the media Wednesday after practice for post practice media availability to discuss this week's matchup at Liberty. Read below to see what Tech head coach Brent Pry and defensive back Mansoor Delane had to say.

Head coach Brent Pry

On Alan Tisdale coming back next year:
"Obviously, that's a positive. We think the world of Alan. We've got a lot of meetings that have the take place at the end of the season here to see where this roster gets. He's a big piece of that. It's good news."

On balancing calling defensive plays and coaching:
"I think for me, personally, you always want to be at your best with everything you do. I need to do a better job as a head coach, and I need to do a better job as a defensive play caller. I don't know if that's because I am doing both or if it's just because it's a new thing for me. When you self-reflect and self-evaluate, there are things that I definitely need to do a better job of."

Defensive back Mansoor Delane

On how he thinks his freshman season is going:
"It's definitely been a journey. It's a blessing. I feel like when I got the opportunity, I took advantage of it. I just kept going. My teammates and coaches put me in a good position. I just capitalized on this opportunity."

On how his teammates have helped him throughout the season:
"I appreciate them a lot. They show me a lot of support and love. They know that, with me being a freshman, that it is hard, but they feel like I can fill that spot on the field. It means a lot because when I make plays, they support me, which makes me want to make even more plays. I am really thankful for them."
