BLACKSBURG – With the inclusion of sixth-year senior Justyn Mutts in its lineup for the first time this season, Virginia Tech continued its hot start to the season with a 78-52 win over Lehigh on Thursday night.
 WELL-BEHAVED HOKIES

  • Through two games, the Hokies have only committed 17 fouls. Last night, Tech only committed seven fouls, which is the fewest in one game since committing six against Duke on Dec. 6, 2019.
  • The last time Virginia Tech committed 17 or fewer fouls in a two-game span was in 2019 against VMI (8) and UMES (9). Since joining the ACC ahead of the 2004-05 season, 17 fouls are the fewest committed by the Hokies through the first two games of a season.

PROTECT THE ROCK

  • The Hokies turned the ball over only five times on Thursday night – the third fewest in the Mike Young era.
  • Only three players committed a turnover in the game for Tech.
  • Starting point guard Sean Pedulla, who tied his career high with 20 points, never turned the ball over in the game.
  • Mutts, who has struggled in the past with ball security, recorded zero turnovers for the fifth time in his Tech career. The Hokies are 5-0 in those games.

WELCOME BACK, JUSTYN

  • After serving a one-game suspension on Monday night, Mutts stepped right into the Hokies' lineup and put up 16 points, 11 rebounds and five assists – his 17th career double-double.
  • Thursday's game was Mutts' sixth-career outing of 10+ points, 10+ rebounds and 5+ assists.
