LONG BEACH, CALIF. – Freshman Taylor Price and Natalie Mitchell were named to the TopDrawerSoccer Freshmen Top 100 midseason list on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Both Virginia Tech athletes made it within the top 15 with Price ranked fifth and Mitchell ranked 11th.
Price has made eight goals and three assists this season, starting in 15 of 15 matches for the Hokies. Among Freshmen, Price leads the ACC in both goals and points (19). She has scored the first Hokies' goal of the match in six games this season, four of which resulted in a win. Price was named to the College Sports News National Women's Team of the Week on Oct. 3 after scoring the game-winning goal against North Carolina 2-1.
Mitchell leads the ACC freshmen class in assists with seven assists in 15 games, tied for second overall. Mitchell is also ranked ninth on the top 10 list for shots in the ACC with 44 shots. She has made two penalty goal kicks this season versus Elon and South Carolina. Mitchell has also started in all 15 games for Virginia Tech playing 974 minutes.
The Hokies set to play Notre Dame on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Field.
