BLACKSBURG – Following its practice on Wednesday during its open week, Virginia Tech football met with the media for a press conference. Read below for what four Hokies had to say.
Head coach Brent Pry
On what the vibes of practice have been like so far this week:
"Yeah, they've been good. The staff is bringing a lot of energy and the players have been good. I've been pleased with that part of it. Sometimes, I've been around teams that have been struggling a little bit and not getting the wins they wanted. I think the guys are encouraged, like I am, about the good things that they do see. They believe that we can go out there and get a W next Thursday. That has the guys motivated to work. Let's go win the game."

Defensive coordinator Chris Marve
On having linebacker Alan Tisdale back:
"Alan Tisdale is a special young man. You talk about someone who has matured significantly in the 10 months I've been here, both in action on the football field as a player and away from here, too. You're talking about someone who is a father. Who is about to graduate and is on the cusps of making the dean's list for the first time in his academic career in college. If you're thinking about someone who can fight through adversity, he's the model of what we want our players to be able to fight through and overcome. He's done it with a smile on his face. He's done it in a leadership manner in actions, not just speaking and talking. So, I'm really proud of where he is and am happy to have him back for sure."
Defensive lineman Norell Pollard
On what this open week has meant for him:
"Just mentally recovering and getting my body right for the back half of the season. Then I've been working on the little things that we've seen on film the first seven games we've played."
Offensive lineman Kaden Moore
On doing the self-scout this week and what stood out to him:
"I think it's been good to look at the past film. There is definitely some stuff to work on. It's been good to dissect it, especially last game. It's definitely been good."
