GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore Taylor Bryan was named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday, October 18. Bryan is the third athlete from Virginia Tech to earn a conference honor this season.
Bryan scored the equalizer against No. 13 Virginia on Thursday, October 13, after pulling the Hokies back into the game with her first goal in the 80th minute of the match (3-2). Bryan quickly ran to grab the ball out of the net as she was ready to do it again. In the final minute of the match, Bryan scored her second goal of the night to tie the Cavaliers 3-3. Bryan's energy was unmatched by the Cavaliers as she played the attack in the final third.
"We are excited and proud of Taylor winning the award this week," said head coach Chugger Adair. "This is a well deserved honor and it is great for her at the team. She has been working hard to come back to her form of scoring goals and being dangerous and this is a combination of her hard work and effort."
The Hokies' remain unbeaten in the ACC versus ranked opponents having tied with Virginia. Tech first defeated No. 22 NC State 1-0, and then went on to defeat No. 3 North Carolina, 2-1. Bryan scored the first goal of the game for the Hokies in their match versus North Carolina.
The Hokies will next host Notre Dame on Thursday, October 20 at Thompson Field. The kickoff time is set for 7:05 p.m.
