1. Why did you choose Virginia Tech?
ES: I chose Virginia Tech for multiple reasons, but the most prominent being that it provides my specialized area of study while competing at a very competitive athletic level. I felt at home on campus, with the upperclassmen, and the coaches. I hope to be able to grow as a player at VT while enjoying the challenge of the ACC conference.
2. What is your major and why did you choose it?
ES: My intended major is Aerospace Engineering. I chose this major as I have a passion for aeronautics and airplanes; however, have a little bit of a knack for design. Basically, putting these two things together, I found that Aerospace engineering could provide a good career in the future that I enjoy and look forward to.
3. What is one goal you have for Virginia Tech women's soccer this year?
ES: One goal that I have for VT women's soccer this year is to make the NCAA tournament. I believe that this is a good goal because we work so hard during practices, and to be able to go out and get the positive results on a national stage would be amazing for the program.
4. What is one thing you want to see or do in Blacksburg before you graduate?
ES: One thing that I want to do in Blacksburg before I graduate is to give back to the community. Blacksburg has been my home away from home, and I believe that the best way for me to be best able to give back is to donate my time in bettering the community.
5. What has been your favorite experience in Blacksburg so far?
ES: My favorite experience in Blacksburg so far has been the first home game double-header weekend! Football played Boston College at Lane Stadium at 8p.m on Saturday, and we were able to play Sunday morning against Northern Colorado. Both teams won their games, so it was an amazing weekend!
6. How many hours do you get to the airport before a flight?
ES: I am kind of an airplane fanatic, so I could get to the airport an entire day early and I would be perfectly okay with being there. However, during a normal flight, I would get to the airport about 2-3 hours early.
7. Where would be your dream place to play, and why?
ES: I have never had the chance to play overseas, but my dream place to play would be in the Barcelona Academy. I took Spanish for 7 years, so all of my language lessons would pay off, and I would be playing at one of the top soccer atmospheres in the world.
8. Who inspires you the most in your life?
ES: I think that my biggest inspiration has been my parents. I always want to make them proud and be the best that I could be. They have shown me that happiness does not come from material things, but it comes from the relationships that you build with others and the effort that you put into every aspect of your life. I strive to compete with all I can on the field, while maintaining high standards for myself in the classroom.
