The Virginia Tech men's soccer team returns to Blacksburg on Friday for an ACC matchup against Pitt, at Thompson Field at 5 p.m. ET and admission is free.
Below are five reasons why you don't want to miss this Friday matchup:
1. The match will be magnetic!
It's Alumni Weekend at Friday's match! Don't miss out on this week's magnetic event. If you are one of the first 500 fans, you get a Tech men's soccer magnet.
2. The best way to spend a Friday night this fall
The weather for Friday's matchup is amazing. Grab a jacket and bring your whole family to enjoy Blacksburg's beautiful fall weather, as expected weather is sunny, clear skies and will be in the low-60s.
3. This is Home
After two matches on the road, Tech returns to Thompson Field for Homecoming weekend. That bodes well for the Hokies, as they're 3-1-2 against Pitt at home all-time. In its 2021 campaign, Tech held an impressive 8-1 record at home, with its only loss being in its home finale against North Carolina.
4. High-powered clash
The Hokies will face off against a Panthers offense that has been explosive this season. Pitt currently ranks second in the ACC in points per match (6.36) and scoring offense (2.09 gpm). Luckily for Tech, its goalies have been able to stop the attack so far this season, led by sophomore Ben Martino, and the Hokies rank first in the ACC in saves per match (3.83).
