Virginia Tech Football's newly-redesigned Sanghani Player Lounge was officially unveiled Thursday, Jan. 27, providing a first look inside the Hokies' impressive renovation.
Made possible thanks to the generosity of Virginia Tech graduate and longtime donor Mehul Sanghani as part of a larger gift to Tech Athletics, the revamped space comes equipped with all the bells and whistles while giving Tech's football student-athletes a dedicated place to unwind and spend time with each other off the field.
Let's take a look inside at the first-class features that make up the Sanghani Player Lounge:
1. The entrance is equipped with a fully-immersive "Sandman experience" replicating the gameday feel of walking through the Avery Tunnel and into Lane Stadium, with sensors set to play Metallica's 'Enter Sandman' as players walk in.
2. The space is packed with arcade games, ranging from "Nitro Trucks" to a basketball "Pop-A-Shot" with Virginia Tech branding. The player lounge also includes ping pong and pool tables for additional gaming opportunities.
3. There are four screens spread throughout the space that can be used to play video games on Sony PlayStation 4 or XBOX One devices, or watch TV while lounging on leather couches and chairs.
4. A dedicated theatre room is the perfect place to watch a movie on the big screen. The room comes with state-of-the-art theatre seats that recline, offering the ideal amount of comfort.
5. The Hokies' football student-athletes will have access to a fully-stocked refreshment station and space to eat, study and enjoy each others' company.
