Hokies blow past Old Dominion 3-0 to remain unbeaten

NORFOLK, Va. Virginia Tech women's soccer claimed victory over Old Dominion as Taylor Price, Tori Powell, and Gabby Johnson scored in a 3-0 nonconference win at the ODU Soccer Complex on Thursday night.

For the third straight outing, Price scored the first goal of the game for Tech in the 22nd minute, her fourth of the season. Price remains the top-ranked freshman in the ACC this season for goals scored. Powell ran the ball halfway down the pitch and into the net for the Hokies' (4-0-1) second goal of the night, which was assisted by Price.

Graduate student Gabby Johnson scored her second career goal as a Hokie with a kick straight down the middle and into the back of the net in the 73rd minute of the match. The Hokies had 10 shots on goal, while keeping the Monarchs (0-4) down to 11 shots in total.

A native of Richmond, Va., Lauren Hargrove claimed her third clean sheet of her career by blocking a career-high five shots on goal. Hargrove has logged over 400 minutes, allowing only one goal to sneak past her this season. She remains a top-10 goalkeeper in the ACC based on goals against average.
