Virginia Tech and Wofford face off for the first time ever on the gridiron Saturday morning. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. ET, and tickets are still available starting at $50. Saturday will be full of festivities, as it will be Tech's annual White Effect game, Military Appreciation Day, Fall Family Weekend and the celebration of the HokieBird's 35th birthday.

No Strangers to the Southern Conference
While this will be the Hokies' first time playing Wofford, they have some history with the Southern Conference. Tech became a charter member of the Southern Conference back on Feb. 25, 1921. The program eventually withdrew from the league in June 1965. Overall, the Hokies are 148-120-22 against the Southern Conference and 23-4-1 in Lane Stadium. Against the current membership, Tech is 46-20-4, with VMI being its most played opponent at 58 games.
There's a First Time for Everything
Throughout the years, Tech has developed some rivalries that have spanned decades. Along with that, the program has also seen its fair share of new opponents. When facing opponents for the first time, Tech is 77-22-1 all time and 52-17-2 at home. The Hokies are hoping that history stands true on Saturday and are on an eight-game winning streak versus first-time opponents.

Ideal Football Weather Awaits
Last week's victory against Boston College saw showers all night under the bright lights of primetime. This time around, the Hokies see themselves under completely different conditions. This Saturday, the forecast is set in the mid-70s with just a 10% chance of precipitation. Also, for the first time in program history, the Hokies will be playing in an 11 a.m. kickoff game. Luckily for Tech, since 1985, the program is 137-40-2 when playing during the day at home.

Building on Their Success
Saturday night, we saw Brent Pry earn his first win as the head coach of Virginia Tech football. The Hokies look to keep their momentum rolling into this week's bout against the Terriers, and have been successful in the past coming off a win, with being 419-248-24 all-time and 145-79-4 in Lane Stadium following a victory.
