ELON, N.C. –The undefeated Virginia Tech women's soccer team will look for their third straight clean sheet on Sunday, Aug. 28, when the Hokies travel to Elon for a non-conference match at 7:00 p.m. Sunday's match against the Phoenix will air live on FloSports.

• Hokies Undefeated (2-0-1): Virginia Tech starts the season 2-0-1, most recently defeating Delaware 2-0 at Thompson Field on Thursday, Aug 25. The Hokies will take on the Phoenix for the fifth time in program history having last beaten Elon in 2021 with a score of 7-1. Tech leads the series against Elon 4-0. Elon was picked to finish sixth in the CAA conference preseason poll. The Hokies have remained unbeaten by a Colonial Athletic Association school since 2004.
• Scouting Elon (1-0-1): While the Phoenix have averaged three goals per a game, the team has scored only once in the second half. Elon comes off a 3-3 tie versus Howard in which Elon was up by three goals with 34 minutes left in the game. Elon lost their lead to Howard in the final 26 minutes of the match allowing Howard to score three times in 13 minutes. Versus American, the Phoenix scored three goals in the first but were kept down to only one shot in the second. The Hokies will need to make it past Elon's lead goalkeeper, McKenna Dalfonso. Dalfsonso has earned 13 shotouts in her career with the Phoenix.
• Determination until the End: The Hokies have won two games this season by outscoring teams in the second half. Freshman Taylor Price scored the first goal of the game against Delaware at 48:35. Sophomore Sophie Maltese scored her first goal of the season 68 minutes into the game, safely securing the Hokies first home win of the season. The Hokies are currently averaging 21.33 shots per game with 57 percent of all shots taken in the second half. Against William and Mary, the Hokies pulled out the win with two goals in the final 8 minutes of the match.
• Leaders Among Us: Tori Powell and Taylor Price have each scored two goals this season with Powell ranked tied for fourth amongst the ACC in points (five), Price is tied for ninth (four points) as one of only three freshmen to make the list. Both women are also tied for fourth in total goals amongst the ACC this season. Freshman Natalie Mitchell leads the Hokies in assists with three and is ranked second in the conference. Goalkeeper Lauren Hargrove is tied for first among save percentages (one) and goals against (zero) in the conference. Hargrove has allowed zero goals in 234 minutes of play.

• The Hokies will next travel to Norfolk, Va. on Thursday, Sept. 1, to compete against Old Dominion at 6 p.m. The Hokies last played Old Dominion in 2004, winning 3-1 at Thompson Field.
