Hokies ready for World Team Trials

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Four Hokies will compete for the chance to represent the United States at the 2022 U20 World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria later this summer. The Hokies will take the mat this weekend in Geneva, Ohio for the US World Team Trials live on Flowrestling on Saturday, June 4.
 
Cooper Flynn, Hunter Catka, Sam Fisher, and Caleb Henson will be taking the mat representing the Hokies in Ohio as they attempt to make the U20 US World Team. Fisher – who won the U20 US Open title in April – will sit till the best 2 of 3 final series, awaiting the winner from the challenge tournament at 86-kilograms. Flynn and Catka – both place winners at the US Open – will wrestle through their brackets at 57-kilograms and 125-kilograms, respectively. Henson, an incoming freshman for the Hokies, will take the mat at 70-kilograms and will look to find his spot on the world team.

Session 1
9:30AM – 2:30PM: Challenge Tournament – Preliminaries, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Finals, & Consolations
 
Session 2
4:00PM – 7:00PM: Challenge Tournament – Consolations, All Medal Matches, & WTT Best 2 out of 3 Finals
