Flowers was drafted by the Chiefs in the second round (No. 35 overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft and went on to play for six seasons in Kansas City (2008-13), before playing his final three years with the then-San Diego Chargers (2014-16). The cornerback had a stellar NFL career, logging 119 career games and was a Pro-Bowler in 2013. Flowers racked up 486 tackles, 21 interceptions and scored four touchdowns in his storied career.
Before he had a long career in the NFL, Flowers turned in one of the best careers by a Hokie in school history on his way to being a Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Famer (Class of 2019). Flowers, who grew up in Florida but did his final year before Tech at Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, Va.), was a two-time All-American and two-time All-ACC selection. He recorded 158 tackles, 10 interceptions and two touchdowns and led Tech to an ACC championship in 2007.
