Moore named to 2023 College Football Hall of Fame ballot

IRVING, Texas – Corey Moore, a standout defensive lineman for the Hokies from 1996-99, is on the ballot for the 2023 College Football Hall of Fame Class, as announced by the National Football Foundation (NFF) on Monday.

Moore was a two-time All-American and the winner of the 1999 Lombardi and Nagurski awards. The Haywood, Tennessee native was a two-time BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year and led Tech to the 2000 national championship game. A leader of the "Lunch Pail Defense", Moore famously tabbed Lane Stadium the "Terror Dome" during his playing days in Blacksburg.

The ballot includes 80 players and nine coaches from FBS and 96 players and 33 coaches from the divisional ranks. To see the entirety of the ballot.

The 2023 College Football Hall of Fame Class will be officially inducted during the 65th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 5, 2023, and permanently immortalized at the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. They will also be honored at their respective schools with an NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salute, presented by Fidelity Investments, during the 2023 season.
