Hokies return to Ann Arbor for NCAA Regionals

Live Scoring

BLACKSBURG — The Virginia Tech women's golf team is set to compete in its fourth consecutive NCAA regional, Monday-Wednesday, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The three-day event is being hosted by Michigan at the par 71, 6,265-yard U-M Golf Course.

In just their seventh season of intercollegiate competition, the Hokies enter the Ann Arbor Regional as the No. 6 seed. Tech returns to Ann Arbor after opening its season in the Great Lakes state with a third-place showing in the Wolverine Invitational. Tech, Michigan, Virginia, Ohio State, Washington and Xavier all played in that season-opening event and will tee it up for a second time at the U-M Golf Course this week.

San Jose State enters the Ann Arbor Regional as the top seed and is ranked No. 5 in the country by Golfstat. UVA garners the No. 2 seed, followed by Michigan, Arkansas and UCF.

Tech's lineup will feature Emily Mahar, Keerattriya Foocharoen, Becca DiNunzio, Symone Henriques and Alyssa Montgomery. Ginnie Lee will also travel with the team.

Mahar, who was named All-ACC for the second season in a row, leads the Hokies in scoring average at 72.77. The Brisbane, Australia, native has four top-5s on the season, including a runner-up performance at the Landfall Tradition in October. Mahar had a stretch of four tournaments in a row where she posted top-5s.

Four spots to the national championship are up for grabs in the 12-team field. The top four teams upon conclusion of Wednesday's final round will advance to Scottsdale, Arizona – once again the site of this year's national championship.

The tournament will consist of 54 holes of stroke play, 18 holes each day with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. ET. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament via Golfstat.
