COLUMBUS, Ohio – Connor Burgess wrapped up play on Wednesday in the Columbus Regional of the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship. The senior shot 10-over in the three-day event, finishing tied for 58th on the leaderboard.

Burgess rebounded from a shaky 5-over start on the front nine of The Ohio State University Scarlet Course on Wednesday by shooting 1-under on the final nine holes.

The strongest showing of the regional for Burgess came on Tuesday, when the Lynchburg, Va. native shot an even 71 with birdies on holes No. 2, 6, 12 and 13.

Entering the regional, Burgess was the fifth-seeded individual competing. His appearance marked the fourth-consecutive season that Virginia Tech had an individual competing in the NCAA championships.

The fourth-seeded individual, Thomas Giroux (Oakland), earned the bid to nationals by shooting 3-under at the event. Oklahoma State and Georgia Tech (842) tied for first in the regional, while Ohio State (856), Arkansas (859) and East Tennessee St. (862) advanced to nationals with top-five finishes.
