GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the third time this season, Emma Lemley has been named ACC Pitcher of the Week. The freshman earns the honor after going 2-0 last week, with wins over No. 15/14 Tennessee and Louisville.
Lemley struck out four in the win over Tennessee, allowing only one earned run in 5.0 innings pitched. The right-hander earned her 13th win of the season and third over a ranked opponent.
On Saturday, she followed it up with her fifth shutout of the season against Louisville. Lemley added 13 to her strikeout total in her 7.0 innings pitched against the Cardinals. The freshman ended her weekend with a .58 ERA over 12 innings pitched, giving up only one earned run. She also earned her second save of the season in the game three win over Louisville, coming on in the seventh, giving up no runs and striking out two.
