BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women's golf team gears up for its final regular-season event, the Wolfpack Match Play, Sunday through Monday at Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh North Carolina.
NC State is hosting the eight-team field, which has been seeded based on Golfstat ranking. South Carolina, ranked No. 3 in the nation, is the top seed and will face eighth-seeded Notre Dame. Tech, the No. 4 seed, drew No. 5 seed Louisville in the opening match. On the bottom part of the bracket, No. 2 seed Florida State faces No. 7 seed NC State. Duke, the No. 3 seed, matches up with No. 6 seed North Carolina.
With Emily Mahar playing at the Augusta National Women's Amateur, Tech will feature a different lineup for the regular-season finale. Becca DiNunzio, Keerattriya Foocharoen, Symone Henriques, Ginnie Lee, Alyssa Montgomery and Kyrsten Shawah will represent the Hokies in Raleigh.
Opening match winners will advance to play in Sunday afternoon's winners' bracket, while the other teams will drop to the consolation side of the bracket and play Monday morning.
