BLACKSBURG – Wide receiver Kaleb Smith has turned in an impressive first half for the Maroon Team in Virginia Tech football's annual Spring Game, presented by PMSi, leading the Maroon Team to a 19-0 lead at halftime on Saturday at Lane Stadium.
The quarterback who tossed those two touchdowns was Grant Wells, a Marshall mid-year transfer, who showcased his strong arm strength with two deep balls to Smith. Wells is 11-for-21 for 184 passing yards, including a 51-yarder to Smith.

For the White Team, Jason Brown is 6-for-13 in the air for 37 passing yards. Receiver Dallan Wright leads the White Team with 21 receiving yards.
Defensively, five players had one sack, including Eli Adams, Norell Pollard, Wilfried Pene, TyJuan Garbutt, Gunner Givens.
