Hokies fall at top-ranked Carolina Saturday

Chapel Hill, NC -- The Virginia Tech lacrosse team (8-5, 2-3) fell 20-8 to top-ranked North Carolina Saturday afternoon.
 
Sarah Lubnow scored a hat trick and Sophie Student and Paige Tyson each scored two goals in the game. In goal, Morgan Berman made six saves.

How It Happened
Student scored the game's first goal and Tyson also found the net in the opening quarter as the first 15 minutes ended at two goal each.
 
UNC scored the first seven goals of the second quarter to open up a lead before Lubnow and Student each scored to close the half.
 
In the second half, the Tar Heels kept up their assault as five different athletes scored hat tricks.
 
The Heels led in draw controls 20-12 and forced 12 VT turnovers.

What's Next
