BLACKSBURG – The No. 23 Virginia Tech women's golf team will travel to Sunset, South Carolina to take part in the sixth annual Clemson Invitational, Friday through Sunday. Clemson will host the 54-hole event at The Reserve at Lake Keowee (par 72, 6,386 yards).

The Hokies will look to continue their strong play after finishing tied for fifth at the Valspar Augusta Invitational two weekends ago. Emily Mahar led the Hokies with her fourth top-five finish of the season after shooting a 2-under 70 in her final round.

Becca DiNunzio, Keerattriya Foocharoen, Symone Henriques and Ginnie Lee join Mahar in the Tech lineup this weekend. Kyrsten Shawah will compete as an individual.

Tech finished as the runner-up in this tournament last season, carding a 2-under 862 (296-285-281). All five Hokies who made the trip recorded rounds in red figures, led by Mahar who carded a team-best 12 birdies to finish 3-under and tie for fifth.

The Clemson Invitational is set to host 18 teams this weekend, including five from the ACC (Tech, Notre Dame, Florida State, Miami and Clemson). The field also features 13 top-50 teams, headlined by No. 6 Florida.

Teams will play 54 holes on Friday beginning at 9 a.m. Pairings are still being finalized.
