Atkinson and Gyorgy earn All American Honorable Mention

ATLANTA – Emma Atkinson and Reka Gyorgy represented the Hokies in the finals on the third night of competition at the NCAA Championship. Atkinson finished 16th in the 200 free prelims, touching the wall at 1:44.93. She went on to swim a season best in the finals, finishing 11th. Gyorgy took 10th in the 400 IM prelims, finishing with her fastest performance of the year at 4:06.48. She placed 10th in the finals, shaving off even more time.

TOMORROW
Emma Atkinson and Caroline Bentz will start the Saturday competition for Virginia Tech swimming in the 200 back. Anna Landon and Sarah Shackelford will compete in the second event of the day, the 50 free. After the 200 breast, Reka Gyorgy will compete in her third event of the week, representing the Hokies in the 200 fly. Lastly, Chase Travis will compete in a battle of endurance, the 1650 free.
