Hokies wrap up day two of NCAA Championship

ATLANTA – The Virginia Tech women finished their first full day of competition at the NCAA Championship on Thursday night. In the 500 free prelims, Chase Travis swam her personal best, touching the wall at 4:42.36. She holds the fourth fastest time in school history. Reka Gyorgy swam her season best in the same event. Later in the morning, Sarah Shackelford swam her personal best in the 50 free prelims. She finished with a time of 22.27, moving up the board to the fourth fastest time in program history.

TOMORROW
Reka Gyorgy will start the third day of competition for the Hokies in the 400 IM. Next up will be Karisa Franz and Luana Alonso in the 100 fly. Sarah Shackelford and Emma Atkinson will represent Virginia Tech in the third event, the 200 free. After the conclusion of the 100 breast, Atkinson will return to the water for her second event of the day. She will swim the 100 back, joined by teammate Caroline Bentz.
