ATLANTA – The Hokies made their debut at the NCAA Championship in the 800 free relay on Wednesday night. Emma Atkinson, Reka Gyorgy, Sarah Shackelford, and Rose Pouch took 16th with a time of 7:01.71, only four-tenths of a second away from the school record they set at the ACC Championships. Atkinson swam a personal best and second fastest time in school history as the lead off.
TOMORROW
Chase Travis and Reka Gyorgy will kick things off for the Hokies in the 500 free. Following the first event, Caroline Bentz will compete in the 200 IM. Sarah Shackelford and Anna Landon will wrap up the swimming portion in the 50 free. Teagan Moravek will compete on the boards in the 1-meter competition.
