Hokie ClubBlacksburg – Freshman Olivia Vergano is the ACC's Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. Vergano was instrumental in two Hokie victories last week as the squad earned a comeback win over No. 15 Notre Dame and then a convincing rout of Winthrop Saturday afternoon.
Against the Irish, the West Babylon, New York native scored four goals, and provided an assist in addition to securing five draw controls for the Hokies. Saturday vs. Winthrop she again tallied four goals and filled the stat sheet with six draws, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
On the season, Vergano has scored 21 goals, tied for the team lead with four hat tricks and two game-winning goals. She owns 24 total points and has a shooting percentage of 51.2%.
