BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech fell to No. 36 Louisville, 6-1, at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on Friday afternoon. Tech's No. 103 Ryan Fishback picked up a ranked win on Court 1, downing No. 92 Etienne Donnet – 6-1, 7-5.

The Hokies were put in the hole early after dropping the doubles point to the Cardinals. Carlo Donato and Alberto Orso gave Tech a chance with a 6-2 win on Court 3, but No. 9 Fishback and Jordan Chrysostom suffered a 6-3 setback on Court 1. That left Alvaro Saez-Royuela Ariza and Scott Sculley with deciding match on Court 2. They brought it to the wire but fell 7-6 (6).

In singles, Louisville flexed its muscle across the board and picked up straight set wins on Court 4, Court 2 and Court 3 to clinch the victory.

Fishback notched his second ranked win of the season on Court 1 after the match had been decided with a 6-1, 7-5 decision of Donnet.

The Hokies will return to action on Sunday against No. 21 Notre Dame at noon inside the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
