Hokies open ACC slate at home this weekend

BLACKSBURG – Coming off two wins in its last three matches, Virginia Tech starts ACC play on Friday with a match against No. 67 Syracuse followed by a Sunday contest versus Boston College.

HOKIES
Virginia Tech has won two of its last three matches, with both wins coming in shutout fashion over Norfolk State and Radford. The Hokies' win on Wednesday moved them to 3-1 inside the confines of Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
 
Annie Clark and Katie Andreini have won four of their last five doubles matches on Court 1, including a massive win against the No. 3-ranked duo from Old Dominion. Erika Cheng and Rita Pinto have been a dynamic duo on Court 2, as well, with wins in three of the last four matches.
 
Elizabet Danailova slid into the Court 2 spot on Wednesday and earned a straight-sets win, while Charlotte Cartledge has emerged into the lineup on Court 5 and picked up a victory against Radford.
 
ORANGE
Syracuse comes to Blacksburg having won its last four matches. The Orange's lone loss came against Penn State on Jan. 23. 
 
Two Syracuse players are 7-0 this season – Shiori Ito and Polina Kozyreva. The two combined have occupied spots on Courts 3-5. Viktoriya Kanaptskaya and Miyuka Kimoto have gotten reps on Court 1, going a combined 5-2.
 
EAGLES
Boston College last played on Feb. 12, a 6-1 win over Boston University. Before that game, the Eagles fell to Charlotte, 5-2. Virginia Tech met Charlotte earlier in the season, as well, falling 6-1 to the 49ers.
