BLACKSBURG -- The Virginia Tech lacrosse team will head up I-81 to face the nineteenth-ranked JMU Dukes in the second game of the season.
The Hokies began 2022 with a 15-6 loss at Jacksonville this past Saturday. In that game Sarah Lubnow and Sophie Student each scored twice, while Paige Tyson and Hannah Mardiney also tallied goals. Morgan Berman made eight saves in goal.
JMU opened their season with a 15-8 loss at home to UNC.

THE SERIES
- Virginia Tech has never defeated the Dukes in 18 previous games. The two clubs had met for 17 consecutive seasons before 2021 when their originally scheduled contest could not be played.
- In their last matchup in 2020, the Dukes pulled out a 9-8 OT victory in the rain in Harrisonburg. Midfielder Kayla Frank scored three goals in that contest.
