Gorlova earns ACC Performer of the Week honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The ACC has released the seventh installment of its Performers of the Week, as Victoria Gorlova earns Co-Women's Field Performer of the Week honors following her record-setting weekend.

Gorlova picks up her first Performer of the Week honor after producing an impressive weekend at the Tiger Paw Invitational, breaking two school records across the two-day meet. Gorlova finished as the second-best collegian in the triple jump, smashing her own Virginia Tech all-time record with a leap of 13.63m (44' 8.75). Her triple jump performance ranks as the top mark in the ACC and the seventh-best mark in the NCAA this season. In the long jump, Gorlova finished as the fifth-best collegian with her school record jump of 6.28m (20' 7.25"), ranking her third in the ACC and 22nd in the NCAA this year.

Up next for the Hokies is a final tune-up before the ACC Indoor Championships in the form of two meets this weekend. Most athletes will rest up while others compete in the final home meet of the regular season, the Virginia Tech Challenge. Members of the distance squad return to JDL Fast Track for the second time this season, competing in the distance medley relay at the JDL DMR Invitational.
