NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Despite No. 70 Ryan Fishback picking up a win against No. 26 George Harwell on Court 1, Virginia Tech dropped a tight match to Vanderbilt on Sunday afternoon.

After dropping the doubles point, Virginia Tech was able to even score when Alberto Orso cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win on Court 5 against Jeremie Casabon.

However, Vandy responded with three wins of their own, including No. 94 Joubert Klopper on Court 2, to clinch a victory against Tech.

Fishback continued to fight in his match, even after dropping the first set. His second set was taken to a tiebreaker that he won 7-3 before playing a lengthy third set that he won 7-5. The victory marked Fishback's first ranked win of the season.

Alex Ix rounded out the day for the Hokies on Court 6, earning a 7-6(6), 3-6, 1-0(7) win.
