HOKIES
Virginia Tech (1-2) dropped a pair of competitive contests last weekend away from home to Michigan State and Xavier. The Hokies snagged the doubles point against the Spartans, but narrowly missed out against the Musketeers.
Over the weekend, Erika Cheng, Dariya Radulova and Semra Aksu picked up their second wins of the season through three matches.
Sunday's match will be Virginia Tech Marketing's Galentine's Day game. Fans will be able to get a Virginia Tech scrunchie and make valentines at a craft station.
49ERS
Charlotte (5-2) has won three-straight matches heading into the weekend. Having challenged two ACC squads already – No. 2 North Carolina and Boston College – the 49ers are a battle-tested side.
The 49er's lineup has two ranked assets, No. 79 Margauz Maquet and the No. 55 duo of Lucia Quiterio and Ruxi Schech.
THUNDERING HERD
Marshall (5-2) has won its last four matches after starting its season 1-2 with losses to No. 7 Virginia and Louisville. In their most recent outing, the Thundering Herd defeated Dayton, 6-1, in Dayton, Ohio. Before traveling to Blacksburg on Sunday, Marshall will face Furman on Saturday.
Last season, Marshall and Virginia Tech put on a fantastic showing in Huntington, W.V. The Hokies walked away after Tamara Barad Itzhaki clinched the match on Court 1 in a three-set contest, 6-7(2), 2-6, 7-6(6).
