THE SERIES
- UNC has prevailed in the previous two encounters with the Hokies, both in the ACC Tournament.
- The Tar Heels lead the all-time series, 70-15. The first game of the series was played on Feb. 15, 1912 in Blacksburg.
- Tech has won two of the last five meetings, but both have come at home.
- The Hokies last won in Chapel Hill on Feb. 13, 2007, an 81-80 overtime victory by Tech.
A WIN WOULD...
- Give the Hokies their second ACC road win of the season. They totaled three ACC wins on the road in 2020-21.
- Be Coach Young's first win at UNC since Dec. 20, 2017 when he led Wofford into the Smith Center and prevailed 79-75. He was 1-2 against the Tar Heels as the head coach at Wofford.
- Hand the Tar Heels their first loss of the season at home (9-0).
HOKIE HEADLINES
- Keve Aluma crossed the 20-point plateau for the fifth time of the season on Saturday at Boston College.
- The Berlin, Maryland native hit 7 of 14 shots and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds in the 68-63 setback.
- Aluma (943) and Justyn Mutts (959) are both on track to reach 1,000 career points this season.

PIVOTAL WEEK AHEAD
- Tech braces for a pivotal stretch in its season this week. The Hokies are set to face three of the ACC's top six teams beginning Monday night at North Carolina.
- Following the UNC game, Tech welcomes Miami to Cassell on Wednesday night before traveling to Tallahassee for Saturday's showdown with league leader Florida State.
