CHESNUT HILL, Mass. -- Despite Keve Aluma's 21 points, the Virginia Tech men's basketball team fell at Boston College 68-63 Saturday afternoon. It was Aluma's fifth time scoring at least 20 points this season.
Aluma added eight rebounds and three assists to his 21-point performance to lead the Hokies (10-8, 2-5 ACC). Hunter Cattoor, who connected on 4 of 5 from three, finished with 14 points, while Nahiem Alleyne chipped in 10 points.
James Karnik, who scored his 1,000th career point during the contest, led all scorers with 26 points for the Eagles (8-9, 3-4 ACC). In what was a decisive factor in the game, BC cleaned up the glass for a 38-23 advantage. The Eagles manufactured 16 offensive rebounds.
Tech must regroup quickly as the team travels to Chapel Hill, North Carolina for Monday's league tilt against the Tar Heels at 8 p.m. on ACC Network.

How It Happened
After jumping out to a 14-8 advantage, Virginia Tech went on a 5-0 run with 9:06 left in the first half to increase its lead to 19-8. The Hokies then lost some of that lead, but still entered halftime with a 33-31 advantage. Virginia Tech capitalized on eight Boston College turnovers in the period, turning them into 11 points on the other end of the floor.
Boston College proceeded to take a 61-56 lead before Virginia Tech went on a 5-0 run, finished off by Alleyne's three, to even the score at 61 all with 4:23 to go in the contest. The Hokies could not turn their rally into a victory, as the Eagles outscored them 7-2 the rest of the way to snap Tech's two-game win streak.
