SOME OLD AND NEW FACES
- The Hokies return five players from last season that played in 10 or more singles matches: Katie Andreini, Tamara Barad Itzhaki, Elizabet Danailova, Rita Pinto and Sabina Richtrova.
- Tech also welcomes a handful of newcomers, including Semra Aksu, Charlotte Cartledge and Dariya Radulova.
NON-CONFERENCE ACTION
- Last season, Virginia Tech finished their non-conference matches with a 7-4 record. They defeated Liberty in the regular season finale last year, before pulling off a win against Clemson in the first round of the ACC Championships.
- In non-conference play, the Hokies went 4-3 at Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
LAST TIME AGAINST ETSU
- Though the two teams saw each other at invitationals in the fall, this is the first dual match between ETSU and Virginia Tech since Jan. 26, 2020.
- Tech earned a 6-1 win that day, as Erika Cheng and Elizabet Danailova were the two girls on this year's roster that competed in that match.
ABOUT THE BUCS
- ETSU faced Kentucky last weekend in a doubleheader, dropping both matches. Notably in both matches, Laylo Bakhodirova defeated No. 100 Carlota Molina of Kentucky in two sets. The Bucs also boast the No. 44 doubles team of Fernanda Carvajal/Yunuen Elizarraras.
