Tech drops match to No. 17 Michigan

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech fell to No. 17 Michigan, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon. One of Tech's points came from the doubles portion, where Jordan Chrysostom and Ryan Fishback defeated the No. 43 duo of Nino Ehrenschneider and Andrew Fenty.
 
Chrysostom and Fishback picked up their first doubles win of the season, while Carlo Donato and Alberto Orso clinched the point for the Hokies with a 7-5 win on Court 3. 
 
Fishback picked up another two-set victory, 6-3, 6-0, on Court 1 against Fenty. 
 
Alvaro Saez-Royuela Ariza, Alex Ix and Orso fell in two sets to allow the Wolverines to take a 3-2 lead. 
 
Donato and Scott Sculley took their matches into three sets with an opportunity to swing the match back in the Hokies' favor. Both put forth late efforts, but were unable to come away with wins.
 
The Hokies are back in action on Friday, Jan. 21 at 4 p.m. against Harvard for their first home match of the season.
