Mid-years arrive at Tech

BLACKSBURG – With the new year upon them and excitement buzzing in Blacksburg on the future of Virginia Tech football, the Hokies' mid-year enrollees arrived for the spring semester late Thursday night and began their orientation meetings and more on Friday.

Being able to move into the brand-new state-of-the-art Creativity and Innovation District Living-Learning Program Residence Hall Friday evening, the players and families felt right at home.

"It's good to be home, you know?" freshman wide receiver Tucker Holloway said. "This is the new home for me. So, it feels good to be back and settled in."

"I love it," freshman tight end Benji Gosnell said, when asked on his first thoughts on the facility.

Following their time moving in, the players and their families got to go to Lane Stadium, which was a new experience for some. The crew was able to have dinner in the South End Zone suite and view Lane in its iconic form – under the lights.

"This is my first time experiencing Lane under the lights and, man, I can't wait to get this place jumping," freshman linebacker Reid Pulliam said.

Before the families broke bread and began to eat, head coach Brent Pry spoke briefly and reminded everyone that they are the foundation for this program and not to forget that, as the group begins a new chapter of Virginia Tech football.

But overall, it was a fun evening for the brand-new Hokies, with meeting their new teammates and getting to see a glimpse of the environment Lane can offer. But now, it's time to get to work.
