Virginia Tech heads to Michigan for first weekend of spring season

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech starts its 2022 spring campaign on Friday against Michigan State before facing Michigan on Sunday.

HOKIES
Tech returns four players that played in more than 15 singles matches last season, including sophomore Ryan Fishback, who is ranked No. 78 in the country heading into the season. In last fall's preseason rankings, the doubles pair of Jordan Chrysostom and Ryan Fishback were ranked No. 10 nationally. Last season, the two qualified for the NCAA Men's Tennis Doubles Championship.
 
SPARTANS
Michigan State returns six players that competed in more than 10 singles matches last season and its double duo of Kazuki Matsuno and Nick Williams that spent a portion of the 2020-21 season ranked. 
 
WOLVERINES
Michigan boasts two ranked players in its singles rotation – No. 43 Gavin Young and No. 67 Jacob Bickersteth. In doubles, Nino Ehrenschneider and Andrew Fenty are ranked No. 43 in the country after reaching the second round of the ITA National Fall Championships in November.
