MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Following its 27-21 setback at West Virginia on Saturday, select Virginia Tech football players met with the media for a postgame press conference. Read what they had to say below.
OFFENSIVE LINEMAN BROCK HOFFMAN
On many trips inside the 10-yard line not yielding in any points:
"It was very disappointing. Just need to execute on those. It's very disappointing when we can't finish and execute in the red zone, especially inside the 10 (yard line)."
CORNERBACK JERMAINE WALLER
On what he saw during his interception in the fourth quarter:
"They ran that screen a few times today and I saw it on film coming into the game, too, just by the formation. So, I felt like I knew it was coming to me on that one."
RECEIVER TAYVION ROBINSON
On if he thought he caught the ball in the end zone that was not ruled a touchdown:
"Yes, I did think I caught it. My hands were on the ground (when I corralled it). Me, my teammates and everyone else I talked to thought it was a touchdown. But it got overturned."
LINEBACKER DAX HOLLIFIELD
On what West Virginia's offense did to get off to such a quick start:
"We missed some key tackles. It's nobody's fault. Just had to regain in the second half and overcome some bad field position early on. We just had to come back and battle being down 14-0 and I thought we did."
