Virginia Tech softball adds home doubleheader Saturday

Opens in a new window Full Schedule

BLACKSBURG – Following the cancellation of Wednesday's game at Radford, Virginia Tech softball added a home doubleheader to its schedule for Saturday against Army at 12 and 2 p.m. Both games will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.

The Hokies (7-2, 4-2 ACC) will open their home season with the Black Knights (1-0) who won their season-opener at Howard Saturday 16-4. Tech and Army faced off on the softball field last season at the Charleston Invitational, with the Hokies coming away with an 8-3 win.

Saturday will be the first time Tech has a home softball game since April 30, 2019, as the team did not host a game prior to the 2020 season being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Hokies went 15-5 at Tech Softball Park in 2019.

To follow the public health guidelines and ensure the safety of Virginia Tech's student-athletes, staff and fans, softball will compete without fans in attendance until further notice. Only essential staff and family members of the student-athletes will be allowed in attendance.
