Building off its run to the second round of the 2021 NCAA tournament, the Virginia Tech women's soccer team is beyond proud to welcome each and every member of its 2022 signing class as part of the next generation in its program-long tradition of family. During the weeks to come, Tech will eagerly introduce its newest class of Hokies one by one as the program excitingly looks forward to its return to the pitch.
BLACKSBURG – Ines Obradovac is a five-foot-nine attacker who hails from Woodstock, Georgia, where she was a crafty goal scorer at River Ridge High School. With deep academy and developmental roots, she is both a club national champion with Gwinnett Soccer Academy (Georgia) and a 2020 call-up to the Bosnia and Herzegovina Under-17 National Team.
"We are very excited to add Ines to our Virginia Tech family," said head coach Chugger Adair. "She is very attacking-minded. She is both creative in her movement and in her ability to go forward.
"Ines is versatile at many different positions: she can play in the midfield, up front and at the wide forward. We are happy and excited to have her join our team and are looking forward to having her on campus with us next season."
As a freshman, Obradovac led Archer High School (Lawrenceville, Georgia) in assists during the 2019 season before becoming a two-time varsity letterwinner under coach Lee Whitaker at River Ridge. There, she logged an astonishing, 33-goal campaign with the Knights en route to receiving 2021 Class 6A All-Region First Team honors.
A multi-year academy player, Obradovac co-led Gwinnett SA to the 2019 Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) national championship, burying 27 goals atop the club's form. In 2021, she brought her winning mentality to United Futbol Academy (Georiga), playing from the attacking midfield during the club's run to the 2021 ECNL Final Four.
