BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech men's tennis head coach Jim Thompson announced the team's spring schedule on Wednesday.
The slate starts with a trip to the Great Lake State to face Michigan State and Michigan on the weekend of Jan. 14.
Virginia Tech will kick off its home action the following weekend against Harvard on Friday, Jan. 21, before hosting Chattanooga and Georgetown on Sunday, Jan. 23.
The Hokies will participate in the ITA Kickoff hosted by Georgia in Athena, Ga. on Jan. 30-31 – returning to the site where their 2021 NCAA Tournament run ended. On the first day they will take on South Florida, then face either Georgia or VCU the following day.
Tech wraps up its non-conference slate in February with matches against St. Bonaventure, Davidson, Middle Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Old Dominion before diving right into conference play.
A trip to North Carolina starts ACC play for Virginia Tech, as it will face the Tar Heels on March 4 and Duke on March 6.
The following week the Hokies hosts their first of six conference matches with Louisville coming to town. Notre Dame, Wake Forest, NC State, Virginia and Boston College will also be home matches for Tech. The match against the Cavaliers, the 2021 ACC men's tennis champions, will take place on April 13.
ACC Championship play is set to begin on April 20 in Rome, Ga.
