The Virginia Tech women's basketball is gearing up to face Wisconsin in Madison on Wednesday December 1, in this season's Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

VIRGINIA TECH GAME NOTES

The Hokies have won the last five matchups in The Challenge, dating back to 2015 and Head Coach Kenny Brooks is 4-0 with an average margin of victory of 21.3 points. Their last win came against Purdue on Dec. 5, 2019, with a score of 67-54 and brought the program's record to 7-6 in the competition. The competition was not contested in 2020 due to COVID-19.
 
Tech is 6-1 and coming off a 1-1 weekend in Puerto Rico at the San Juan Shootout where they fell 76-68 to Missouri State and rebounded to defeat UT-Martin 54-49. 
 
Elizabeth Kitley turned in an impressive two games at the Shootout, scoring 40 points, grabbing 23 rebounds and blocking seven shots. She is the current leader in the conference in a litany of categories; scoring, blocks, double-doubles, 20-point games and 10-rebound games. Kitley is also second in FG percentage and rebounds.
 
On Wisconsin:
 
Wisconsin (2-5) is coming off a 67-51 loss to Colorado Sunday. 
 
Wisconsin trailed 41-36 with 4:38 to play in the 4th quarter, before Colorado went on a 6-0 run to lead 47-36 with 2:24 remaining. Freshman Krystyna Ellew hit a jumper with 2:04 on the clock to make it 47-38 but that would be as close as the Badger would get. 
 
Sydney Hilliard led Wisconsin with 12 points while Julie Pospisilova, who was named to the all-tournament team, was the third Badger to score in double figures with 10 points. 

UW was outrebounded 37-28 with Katie Nelson leading the team with seven boards.

Hilliard had a team-high four assists while Pospisilova had a team-best three steals.
 
Wisconsin turned the ball over 18 times, allowing CU to score 22 points off giveaways, while the Buffs had 16 steals and nine turnovers. The Badgers hit 43.1% (22-51) from the field but just 21.7% (5-23) from 3-point range. Colorado hit 24-58 (41.4%) from field goal range, including 7-19 (36.8%) from behind the arc.
