Virginia Tech baseball reveals 2022 schedule

2022 Virginia Tech Baseball Schedule Stay Connected

BLACKSBURG – Turning the calendar to 2022, Virginia Tech baseball head coach John Szefc proudly revealed the program's complete regular season schedule on Wednesday, outlining the Hokies' path through the ever-competitive ACC and the non-conference tests that lie in between.

From the confines of English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park, Tech is scheduled to play 36 home games in Blacksburg, headlined by five ACC series against Pitt (March 18-20), NC State (April 8-10), Miami (April 14-16), Louisville (May 13-15) and Duke (May 19-21). In total, the Hokies will compete in 36 games against RPI top-100 programs from a season ago, including 27 games against teams that qualified for the 2021 NCAA tournament.

"Our 2022 schedule is extremely challenging both inside and outside the grueling ACC," said Szefc. "We are fortunate to have scheduled as many home games as possible to engage with our supportive fan base."

Beginning the season in Blacksburg, Tech will open the spring with a 13-game home stand featuring non-conference matchups against UNC Asheville (Feb. 18-20), Fordham (Feb. 25-27), Wright State (March 4-6) and East Carolina (March 8). The Hokies' season-closing, 10-game home stand will also feature non-conference affairs against Villanova (May 7-8) and Kansas State (May 17).

In tandem with its five ACC home series, Tech will contest conference road series at Georgia Tech (March 11-13), Notre Dame (March 25-27), North Carolina (April 1-3), Boston College (April 22-24) and Virginia (April 29-May 1).

Along the way, the Hokies will also contest home-and-home midweek sets against Liberty, James Madison, Marshall, Radford and VMI.

Virginia Tech will seek its first-ever ACC trophy at the 2022 ACC Baseball Championship, to be held at Truist Field in Charlotte. The Hokies are pursuing their first NCAA tournament berth and home regional appearance since 2013.

English Field will operate at full capacity for the 2022 baseball season. Ticket information, along with game times, broadcast and streaming information, will be released at a later date.
